AcknowledgementsThe submissions to the Review were extensive, and substantial. We are grateful to the many people who, for their organisations and on their own behalf, gave their time, experience and knowledge to inform the Review. The Review was greatly assisted by officers of the Department of Family and Community Services, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, Centrelink and the Social Security Appeals Tribunal. We received particularly helpful cooperation from the Ombudsman's Office and the Productivity Commission. We are grateful too for the expertise, information and counsel we received from the staff and members of the commissioning organisations (Appendix 1), and from a range of people including Tony Eardley, Dan Finn, Lis de Vries, Julia Perry and Robin Perry. In addition, we are grateful to the many people who facilitated the conduct of the Review, particularly in arranging the public consultations and in providing infrastructure, services and support. We thank Nick Eastman, Aurelie Jacquet, Carl D'Souza and Lauren Walker for research and administrative assistance. We are greatly indebted to the University of New South Wales Law Faculty, particularly its Dean, Professor Paul Redmond, for providing accommodation and technical support and for the assistance of its staff. Finally, we wish to express our particular gratitude for the substantial contribution made to the conduct of the Review by its Secretary, Simon Rice. |
