| Abstract: | A lantern slide advertisement for garden hoses. The image consists of a drawing that has been photographically transferred onto glass and then hand coloured. The picture shows a woman watering her flowers with a hose. The hose, which is connected to a tap emerging from the bottom border is depicted as if it has broken through a panel that advertises the: PERDRIAU WATERSHED HOSE. The garden has a spacious lawn, a flowering hedge and a trellis. The woman is dressed in white, including her stockings and shoes. The advertisement also declares that: WE CARRY FULL STOCKS. |
| Description: | Printed below image, l.r.: BEAVIS SLIDE. printed in white on image, l.r.: 1(inside a black circle) notes on dating: the Agfa-invented process for making coloured glass lantern slides was not available outside Germany until the 1920s, and Perdriau products were known as Dunlop Perdriau products after the companies merged in March 1929. |
